ABOUT US

Artistic Fraud is an incorporated not-for-profit formed in St. John’s in 1995 and has been hailed as one of Canada’s most daring and innovative theatre companies. Since its creation, Artistic Fraud’s goal has been to educate and increase the public’s understanding and appreciation of the arts by providing theatrical productions. 

Our long-term artistic mission is to build and maintain a viably operating and artistically satisfying professional theatre company operating from the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, in order to promote Newfoundland and Labrador talent, as well as new techniques developed by the company, throughout the nation. 

We employ these innovative techniques in the creation of our original works, expand our regional audience base for innovative theatre practices and productions, enhance the reputation of Newfoundland theatre for developing new forms and standards in the industry, and contribute to Newfoundland’s reputation for excellence in innovative theatre.
